Solution for Loosening Bolt
Bolt functions as connector between two objects. These objects will not be able to stand/connect without the presence of bolt although it does not grant guarantees they can last forever. This test method involves continuous vibrations to the machine and measuring the bolt’s clamp load (kN). If the bolt loosened, the clamp load will decrease.
Based on the graph below, it can be observed that the use of various nuts and washers cannot maintain the clamp load – the clamp load continues to decrease, reaching as low as 15kN (Nylon Insert Nut) and even 0 kN (plain nut) within 20 seconds. However, with the use of Wedge Washers, the clamp load remains above 60kN at the 20-second mark. This significant difference demonstrates that Wedge Washers can effectively maintain the clamp load of bolts, preventing them from loosening.
